Alugadde gojju (potato gojju)
Ingredients:
mustard seeds : 1 tsp
jeera : 1 tsp
green chillies : as per your taste (preferably 4 or 5)
coriander leaves : one small bunch
ginger - one inch pc
turmeric - a pinch
jaggery : lemon sized
coconut : as per taste (preferably one big lemon sized)
tamarind : one small lemon sized.
Potato : half kg (sliced finely)
Take some oil, in a colander and add 1 tbsp of oil. Add asafoetida, mustard seeds and curry leaves to the same. Add the sliced potatoes and cook it without adding water. Just cover the potatoes and it will cook in steam. Add some salt once it is half done, and continue cooking till it is fully cooked.
Meanwhile, add coconut, turmeric, coriander leaves, ginger, green chillies, jeera, and mustard seeds and grind finely.
Once the potato is well cooked, add the ground masala, the jaggery pieces and the tamarind and cook well for somemore time. Once everything is mixed, check out the salt again.
Once that is done, you can serve it hot with chapatis, or eat it with rice.
