Huli Thovve Recipe
Ingredients:
- Channa Dal: 2 tbsp
- Cinnamon: 1” piece
- Red Chillies: As per taste
- Coriander Seeds: 2 tbsp
- Tuvar Dal: 1 cup
- Ridge Gourd: ½ kg
- Tamarind: Lime-sized piece, soaked in water
- Coconut: As needed
- Salt: To taste
Instructions:
- Roast: In a pan, heat a little oil and roast channa dal, cinnamon, red chillies, and coriander seeds until fragrant.
- Grind: Allow the roasted ingredients to cool slightly, then grind them with coconut and water to form a smooth paste.
- Cook Dal & Veggies: Boil tuvar dal and ridge gourd until soft.
- Combine: Add the ground masala paste, tamarind water, and salt to the boiled dal and veggies. Mix well.
- Simmer: Cook for an additional 4 minutes on low heat.
- Serve: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
