Vegetable Sagu Recipe

Ingredients:

  • For the Masala:

    • Onion: 1 large
    • Green Chillies: 3-4 (adjust to taste)
    • Coconut: ½ cup, grated
    • Coriander Leaves: A handful
    • Jeera (Cumin Seeds): 1 tsp
    • Bengal Gram Dal: 1 tbsp
    • Cinnamon: 1-inch stick
    • Khus Khus (Poppy Seeds): 1 tsp
    • Lavang (Cloves): 2-3
  • For the Sagu:

    • Mixed Vegetables: 2 cups (carrots, beans, potatoes, peas, etc.), cut into cubes
    • Salt: To taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Masala: Grind onion, green chillies, coconut, coriander leaves, jeera, Bengal gram dal, cinnamon, khus khus, and lavang into a smooth paste.
  2. Boil Vegetables: In a pot, boil the mixed vegetables with salt until they are cooked but still firm.
  3. Combine & Cook: Add the ground masala to the boiled vegetables and mix well. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Serve: Serve hot with puri or chapathi.
