Lemon Rice

 


Tangy, vibrant and perfect for travel — lemon rice was a common choice for picnics and train journeys.

🛒 Ingredients:

  • Cooked rice

  • Lemon juice

  • Mustard seeds

  • Peanuts

  • Curry leaves

  • Green chillies

  • Turmeric powder

  • Salt

  • Oil

 Method:

  1. Heat oil and add mustard seeds and peanuts.

  2. Add green chillies and curry leaves.

  3. Add turmeric powder and salt.

  4. Mix in cooked rice.

  5. Turn off the flame and add lemon juice.

 A Note from Tradition:

Often prepared for temple visits or long journeys because it stayed fresh longer.
