Mysore Style Tomato Rasam

 


Light, tangy and comforting — tomato rasam was the perfect end to any heavy meal.

🛒 Ingredients:

  • Tomatoes

  • Tamarind extract

  • Rasam powder

  • Cooked dal (optional)

  • Mustard seeds

  • Curry leaves

  • Hing

  • Coriander leaves

 Method:

  1. Cook tomatoes with tamarind extract and salt.

  2. Add rasam powder and bring to a boil.

  3. Add mashed dal if using.

  4. Temper mustard seeds, curry leaves and hing in oil.

  5. Pour tempering over rasam and garnish with coriander leaves.

 A Note from Tradition:

Rasam was believed to aid digestion — making it a must-have after festive meals.
